About HealthSense
Beyond the resume
Beau grew up with strong family and caregiving values, and he says they still guide his work. Before nursing, he earned a communications degree from Louisiana State University and spent nearly seven years in audiology. He credits that work with shaping how he builds relationships with clients. He went on to work as a trauma nurse, then moved into home health, in a career that has taken him from Louisiana to California to New York.
HealthSense is a nurse-led Aging Life Care practice based in Manhattan, serving older adults and their families across the New York metro area. It was founded by geriatric nurse practitioner Anne Sansevero and is now led by Beau Romero, RN, who worked with her for several years before acquiring the company. HealthSense does not provide hands-on home care. Its nurse care managers assess, plan, advocate, and coordinate care, including hospital transitions, memory care, end-of-life care, advance directives, and RN-accompanied medical transport. The team also helps families navigate Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance benefits, and refers them to licensed legal and financial professionals when a matter calls for one. Physicians, elder law attorneys, and hospital discharge planners also refer clients to the practice.
Families start with a free 30-minute phone consultation. Ongoing care management begins with a comprehensive assessment that produces a written report, a care plan, and a list of resources. Services are private pay, billed hourly or on a flat-fee basis, with no retainer or monthly fee. Some long-term care insurance policies may cover part of the cost. The office is open 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends. MissionSense, the practice’s non-profit arm, offers care management by application to seniors who can’t afford it. ExpertSense, its education arm, offers video guides and one-time consultations.
Beau Romero learned early how much human connection matters to older adults. As a home health nurse in his South Louisiana community, clients often told him his weekly visit was the highlight of their week, sometimes second only to the mail carrier. At HealthSense, isolation is part of the care plan. The practice’s MindSense® program, created by founder Anne Sansevero, matches activities to each client’s interests and cognitive stage. Beau has expanded it to include massage, fitness, art therapy, and outings. One client is getting help writing a book to leave for her family and friends.
Families work with a team, not one person. A lead nurse care manager runs each case. Field nurses back the lead, with experience ranging from mental health to end-of-life care, and so does an office team made up entirely of registered nurses. The practice aims to return calls within an hour, and families can reach the team by text. When a client needs extra time, Beau expects the team to give it.
In independent reviews, families often point to compassionate advocacy and to the attention the team gives the whole family.

Health Sense is truly exceptional. From the very beginning, it was clear that they genuinely care, not only about the person needing care, but about the entire family. They never made me feel like just another customer. They took the time to listen, understand the situation, and guide me with incredible compassion, patience, and kindness. As I explore options for my dad, they've been an invaluable resource. During what can be a stressful and emotional process, having someone who truly cares makes all the difference. Their support has given me confidence and peace of mind, and I’ve always felt like they have my best interests at heart. I can't recommend Health Sense highly enough. If you're looking for a team that will treat your family with genuine compassion and care, they're exactly the people you want by your side.

October 2026he HealthSense team has been such a great support for our family. They took care of my grandma and treated her with so much dignity, patience, and compassion. Everyone was attentive, professional, and made sure she felt comfortable and respected at all times. You can tell they genuinely care about their patients, which gave us so much peace of mind. We’re truly grateful for the care provided and would highly recommend HealthSense to anyone looking for quality, compassionate care.

April 2026I have known Beau personally and worked with him for a long time. He’s always gracious and kind to those whose paths he crosses. I know he and his team bring that same energy to his company’s mission and to the clients they serve. When my loved ones need a nurse care management team, I know who I’ll be calling.
