About Lori Williams
Beyond the resume
On Christmas Day 2022, Lori's husband Mark suffered a series of four strokes, and she became his primary caregiver overnight. This experience became the basis for a book, Surrounded by Love: One Family's Journey Through Stroke Recovery, which won the International Impact Book Award in 2024. She also hosts the podcast Aging in Style with Lori Williams (250+ episodes), speaks locally and online on caregiving and stroke prevention, and serves on the boards of Meals on Wheels/SPAN Denton County and the Flower Mound Senior Center.
Lori Williams Senior Services is a senior living placement practice covering the Dallas–Fort Worth area, with particular depth in Denton County, TX. The team helps older adults and families navigate independent living, assisted living, memory care, and related housing and service decisions, with specific familiarity in dementia placements.
Engagement starts with a phone consultation, followed by a curated list of communities matched to care needs, budget, personality, and preferred geography. Lori herself is a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA) and Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP), with 18+ years in the senior living industry. She stays involved through tours, feedback, and the transition itself.
Lori Williams launched her senior placement business in 2018 after watching her own family struggle to find the right resources for her grandmother, who had been diagnosed with dementia. That experience, of loving someone deeply and still not knowing where to turn, is the reason her work begins with listening, not a list.
An initial phone consultation covers daily routine, health concerns, personality, interests, budget, and preferred location, because the right community depends on far more than availability or price. From there, she builds a short, curated set of options rather than sending families off to tour everything within 30 miles.
Each recommendation comes with her own reasoning for being on the list, and she stays involved through tours, feedback, and the logistics of the move.
That hands-on involvement took on new meaning in 2022, when her husband suffered a series of four strokes on Christmas Day, and she stepped into the role of his primary caregiver.
In other words, Lori's been there. Families working with Lori are talking with someone who has navigated ICU decisions, rehab qualifications, insurance, and home modifications from the inside, not only as a placement professional, but as a caregiver living it.

October 2026Lori is absolutely amazing! She is knowledgeable of the best resources, supportive, responsive, and caring through the process and transition. I would recommend her, as well as her contacts, for any senior needing assistance or advice. The process of aging and facing the journey of senior living can be overwhelming but with the talent of people like Lori you can find possibilities, safety, and a community of support.
